Salt & Light Learning carries Christ-based, hand-picked, used curriculum and resources focused on guiding homeschool families through the process of teaching their children at home. This used curriculum/Christian bookstore was started in July 2002 in order to meet the needs of the community, providing a place to buy curriculum at decent prices, trade in curriculum for the next level, research what curriculum is available, offering tried-and-true reading, experiments, crafts, music, videos, and other electives. They offer quality new and used home education materials at a discount, including an avenue for trade or consignment of curriculum, including teacher and student workbooks and textbooks, readers, teacher helps and aids, videos, science lab equipment, games and other materials. They also offer a refuge for families through fellowship, rejuvenation, and advice for getting started and continuing homeschool education. Over 14,000 discount new and used homeschool books, curriculum, resources and supplies. Used materials are sold on consignment.
Colorado law requires that every child who is 6 years old on or before August 1 of the current school year, and under the age of 17, must attend school. If a homeschool is operating under Colorado’s home education statute (Option 1), the parents may wait to begin actual instruction until their child is 7 years old; however, they must still submit a notice of intent beginning with the school year that the child turns 6 by August 1.
